“Return to Forever” is the second album from atmospheric drum & bass artist Seba. Focusing on clean kick drums, driving bass lines, and echoed synths, this album feels incredibly rich, even though the sounds are relatively minimal. There is an incredible sense of space throughout the album, and every element blends together like silk.

“Blaze & Fade Out” is one of my all-time favorite tracks. The way the vocals harmonize and intertwine with themselves because of the heavy reverb is simply breathtaking. You literally feel swallowed up by the sheer breadth of sound around you, not to mention the melody is absolutely stunning; pure, and steadfast. The vision of traveling through space at high speeds is always the most prominent in my mind when I listen to this track.

Seba also does a wonderful job incorporating smooth, jazzy lines into this album. Occasionally a trumpet may be heard, or an acoustic bass which fit surprisingly well with the standard dnb drum pattern, and adds more depth and space. While driving at night I love to have this album playing because of its minimalism, and unobtrusiveness, yet it has a sort of eerie quality as well and matches up so perfectly while driving down a highway or a sparsely lit road.

  1. Crockett is most definitely better:

Still, one of my all time favorite albums.

  2. Nice pick. Return To Forever is one of my favorites to play when I’m driving. Listen to “Blaze And Fade Out” while taking a nice drive at sunset and you wont forget it. :) Always been a fan of atmospheric DnB and not many artists do it better than Seba. His Producer 06 album released under Goodlooking Records has always been one of my favorites as well.

  3. This is the first time I have listened to dnb and I’m glad I did. Thanks for leaving me discover Seba. =]
